Hi, you phenomenal, PA-loving humans.
I just wanted to say a quick thank you. You’re incredible. Not only did we win in Pennsylvania—we KILLED IT! The PA Supreme Court election was a SOLID win. We also carried loads of school board seats, including in a hotly contested election in Bucks County. Sara Innamorato was elected as the first woman to lead the Allegheny County government after she ran on a progressive platform that promised a “county for all.” There’s more! It’s so, so good!
Of course we also smashed it in Kentucky, Virginia, Ohio, New Jersey, and many other places. It was just a stellar night!
While the press will describe this victory as a sign that abortion rights are still a motivating factor in elections—and they are—there’s more to the story. And that “more” is you—the determined many who worked tirelessly to help us win these elections. You who wrote postcards, knocked doors, gave money, wrote Vote Forward letters, phonebanked, textbanked, and did the critical work of talking to voters about the stakes in these elections. THAT is the secret sauce that made the difference.
Make no mistake. This wild, thrilling victory would *not* have come about without the work that YOU did.
So thank you a million times. We’re going to take a little rest on this list, but if you stay subscribed I’ll be back for the next PA election and hope you’ll join me in winning even bigger next time.
One more small thing: several of you have pledged to pay for this PA newsletter if I turn on the paid feature. I’m not going to do that because it’s so irregular, but I did want to offer an alternative: I have a Patreon, and signing up as a monthly Patron at any level is a great way to help me keep the lights on on ALL of these newsletters (I have 12 state-level newsletters now!) and my activism work in general.
Either way thank you for who you are and the patriotism you show every day. I hope to see you over on the main list! And again, I am SO PROUD OF YOU!!!
Jess
