Chop Wood, Carry PA 3/16
Hi, all, and welcome to my new subscribers! This is Jess. If you wanted to adopt PA you’re in the right place!
Old or new, remember to check out the PA Master Doc for an ongoing list of everything Pennsylvania-related. Bookmark it; check it often, as I will update it regularly.
Having said that, here are some upcoming PA opportunities NOT in the doc.
🌲 Basically right when you get this email a great Sister District “State Bridges” event abut PA will be starting. It’s going to be awesome— if you can hop on please do! They’re trying to raise money to help Pennsylvania United develop new local chapters to deepen their work in western PA. The fundraising will also help PA Stands Up hire 3 new field organizers to develop their distributed organizing team. Sign up here to attend, or just donate to support their work in Pennsylvania.
🌲In less time sensitive options, Red 2 Blue and the New PA Project have a one-hour webinar on Sunday, March 20th from 5-6:30 EST, that sounds really interesting and cool. You’ll hear about an upcoming pilot project to make sure that the voters NPP registers actually vote. It’ll involve text banking and calling—you can do either. This will be a great way to help! Register for the webinar here.
🌲 Turn PA Blue now has postcarding into PA! You have to pay for the packets but they’ll send you EVERYTHING you need, including the cards. Get a pre-addressed postcards to voters kit here!
🌲 TECH SAVVY VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR PA PETITION CHALLENGE PROJECT! As we have seen time and again, the GOP will try to use every legal means possible to kick our candidates off the ballot and Turn PA Blue needs help to make sure this doesn’t happen! Join them on Sunday 3/27 at 7PM EDT for a brief training to learn more about their new project and how you can help! You can find more info and sign up here.
🌲 Have your own postcards? Activate America has a postcarding program in Pennsylvania, too! Voting by mail is a relatively recent option for most Pennsylvania voters, and in 2021, the state created an “Annual Mail Ballot List.” People on the list will get a mail-in ballot for every election in a calendar year. However, since it is a relatively new program, voters may not know or remember that they need to reapply each year. People already on the “Annual Mail-In Voter List” have received a notification from the state that they need to complete a form to stay on the list, and we’re sending likely Democratic voters a postcard reminding them to return that form or to reapply online. Interested? Sign up HERE.
OK I think that’s enough for now. Let me know what you sign up for—I always like to know I’m not screaming into a void. 😉
Thanks for all you do!
Jess
